REHAB

Q: What’s the process to obtain customized rehab equipment such as a wheelchair?
A: Typical steps in the process include:

  • Evaluate to identify the specific type of equipment you need
  • Gather all necessary documentation signed by your doctor
  • Get approval from your insurance
  • Let Experea order, receive and assemble your equipment
  • Allow Experea to carefully fit and deliver your equipment
  • Bill your insurance

Q: Why is more time required to get customized rehab equipment such as a wheelchair?
A: We realize you need your equipment as quickly as possible, and process orders as fast as we can. However, a few necessary requirements must be met first.

  • Your insurance company requires medical documentation to make a decision about authorization for reimbursement. We coordinate and gather this medical documentation from your healthcare providers and submit it to your insurer for review and authorization. We take the burden of this paperwork process off your shoulders, to help you get the equipment you need to reclaim your life.
  • Depending on the complexity of your condition and equipment, the process can take a few days to several weeks to complete. Once the authorization is obtained, your equipment is ordered. Your custom equipment is then manufactured and delivered direct to our location, where it’s assembled, inspected for quality, and then delivered to you. This ensures the customized fit needed so your equipment meets your unique needs. Even though these steps take time, the special care by our knowledgeable experts at every step of the ordering process results in a proven outcome of satisfied clients. That’s the Experea difference.

Q: Why should I choose Experea Healthcare over another company?
A: Experea Healthcare is a leader in the complex rehab industry, with a reputation for providing excellent service and quality products to all our clients since 1999. We’re certified by the Joint Commission, an accrediting organization that maintains stringent standards, policies and requirements across all areas of medical care. It measures ongoing performance and ensures quality healthcare and patient safety. This accreditation is required to be a Medicare provider. We employ Assistive Technology Professionals (ATP) and rehab technology professionals who undergo rigorous education and training to be certified through the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America (RESNA), a leading association that combines the latest advances in technology and disability. For more information about the Assistive Technology Professionals (ATP) credential, go to RESNA.org.

Q: Do I have to see a doctor to get a wheelchair?
A: Yes. Our clients, who have a spinal cord injury or other life-altering injury or illness, are referred to us by physical therapists and doctors. If a wheelchair can provide the mobility needed to reclaim your life, talk with your doctor about authorizing a thorough evaluation by a qualified Rehabilitation Technology Supplier (RTS).
